Exploring strategic planning in brazilian companies: a bibliographic review of recent case studies

The business world is becoming increasingly competitive, prompting companies of all sizes to seek suitable management tools for effective strategic planning. Strategic planning is an essential tool for organizations, enhancing outcomes, boosting competitiveness, and strengthening decision-making. This article aims to map recent case studies that address the implementation of strategic planning in different companies within the Brazilian market through a systematic literature review. It also highlights the use of classic management tools such as the SWOT Matrix - Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats - as a fundamental element for the success of the analyzed companies. A total of 4,290 articles were identified and sorted by relevance using the Google Scholar search tool. Among them, the 100 most relevant articles were analyzed, of which 11 were selected for meeting the established criteria: article textual format, case study research methodology, and research object, involving the implementation of strategic planning in a Brazilian private company. A wide range of publications on the subject was observed, underscoring its relevance and timeliness. In conclusion, the combined use of management tools was found to be essential for the strategic management of the studied companies, spanning from diagnosis to intervention. It is also evident that strategic planning is a widely adopted tool across companies of all sizes, underscoring its relevance in any organizational context. Lastly, it was verified that the SWOT Matrix remains firmly established as the primary tool used, being present in 90.9% of the analyzed works.
