Abstract

The present work aims to present the importance of Strategic Planning in organizations and how it impacts on decision-making as well as on the results obtained, in order to make a company more competitive in its market, observing internal and external factors of the organization, and thus using such an analysis in an attempt to define short, medium and long term plans that may bring advantages to the company in question. Among the most widespread business analysis tools, we can mention the SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats), Analysis, the PESTEL analysis that aims to help company to react to changes in its external environment, and the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) - or the Balanced Performance Indicators, is a methodology for business management and Strategic Planning created in 1992 by Kaplan and Norton, both professors at the Harvard Business School.

The elaboration and practice of planning based on the organizational mission and vision brings great gains for survival in the market that has become increasingly competitive, as well as being prepared for changes in the environment.

World economic scenario.

To achieve the objectives proposed in this work, an analysis of 20 works of scientific and academic literature, study categorization, review, evaluation of selected studies and interpretation of content were carried out, whose results were the synthesis of knowledge that can be adopted in organizations and how they are important in the process of organizational evolution.
